I am looking at cars, and I founds this link:

I thought Mercedes were like 40 grand, do they really lose value that fast?|||That is not a good price for that car!!!!! A 2007 will run you just over $30,000 with a warranty! For that car, with 50k miles on it, no way, do not buy. My E320 wagon was $68,000 msrp purchased for $62,000 and today is worth $17,000 for a vehicle in like new condition with 75k miles on it and is NINE YEARS OLD. Yes, overall it is worth a third of the price but it is still better than 70% of the cars available for $17,000 NEW. As wtih any manufacturer of cars by driving a new car off the lot you take a huge hit, the more the car, the more the hit. However a Mercedes will retain its value ALOT more so than other cars. When was the last time you heard anyone paying 17k for a nine year old car? The C class sedan is an introductory model. Kind of a starter luxury car to get you hooked and into the more expensive models. If you were looking to purchase a C class stay away from model years 2002-2004 they were having alot of electrical issues, I would recomend any E class except for the 2002-04 models unless they can show the work orders to show no history of problems and the other classes are all great. If you maintain (ie.. change the fluids, follow the owners manual, wash the car, use premium gasoline) the cars they will not break. Several of my friends have their original mercedes and three of them have sedans with over 300k miles. Sound unreliable to you? These are used as taxis in Europe. Sound unrelaible to you? As far as expensive to fix, What do you say to that, if you pay 10k dollars for something and it costs you 1000 dollars to fix it when it breaks i would say that is expensive to maintain. 1/10th the original cost. My mercedes at 60k dollars would have to charge 6000 dollars to fix the same problem and I can assure you that that is not the case. We are not stupid, some dealerships may charge high prices and the don't get any work other than warranty. Most of us go to independant dealers for out of pocket work being done. I didn't get a Mercedes by being foolish with my money. Most of the stories you here about Mercedes are from people who have never even sat in one not to mention owned one.|||Yes all cars lose value pretty quickly, People have always said "mercedes will hold there value" but sadly that is not true. That is about the average price you will get for a W203 C240.|||thats about right, its 2008 thats an 04 , sho you can expect to see them cheaper..|||That's a great car at a great price, snap it up before someone else does.|||The C240 is a small Mercedes sedan. It's not expensive to begin with and $20k used is a fairly standard price.

Used Mercedes Benz cars are not very reliable and they cost a fortune to repair. They drop in value fast.|||Yes they lose value that quickly.|||I would avoid the Compressor models, they can be very expensive to repair if that supercharger goes out. If you can get any kind of warranty at a reasonable rate, do it. Air conditioner repairs are very expensive on Mercedes. They are good cars, but expensive to repair|||That is a reasonable price for a C Class. New, those are around $30k, maybe even less with no options. So that price is reasonable.
