What to do with car defect (Mercedes)?

Hi all,

I have purchased this 2009 Mercedes Benz C63 for 3 months. One day the car broke down and had to be towed to the service center. The next day the service adviser told me that it is the ignition's problem, which means that the part is flawed. I am not particularly happy with the breakdown, as it is a god damn NEW CAR. More so, they couldn't even provide me an okay rental car. They gave me a Chevy without power seat and keyless lock. I called MBUSA about it and asked for a possible buyback or refund, and the case specialist told me that they would review it and let me know in 3 weeks. I actually like the car, but god who knows what's next? For the best of my interest, I either want an exchange or a full refund. Do you think they would give me a full refund? What should I do next? Thanks!|||They wont and don't have to give you a new car or buy yours back. You have a warranty tell them to fix the problem and you are good to go and it wont cost you a thing.

Every car comes with some problem. You simply cant put together a few million parts and expect everything to go perfectly.

lb is also correct. Mercedes hasn't really been a high quality car since at least the early 90's. Its actually gotten better since the mid 90's.

Charles - When did Daimler get a bailout? They no longer own Chrysler after they used all Chrysler's money to rebuild Mercedes and wreck Chrysler.|||Mercedes isn't what it used to be. You would think that after paying so much for a vehicle, you would get great customer service with it. I keep hearing horror stories like yours. Like, having to schedule an appointment weeks in advance to fix a broken car, keeping your car for months just for a simple repair, etc.

Welcome to the new Mercedes world. Go on www.ripoffreports.com if they don't get your situation fixed right away.

I had a friend who had problems with his Lexus, it was a couple years old, and they gave him a loaner, top of the line, newest model, Lexus. I traded in a car at a Saturn dealership and returned a year and a half later, and the salesman called me by my name, and remembered the car I traded in (it was a pretty good trade on both sides, not a bad thing he would have remembered) That's customer service. If I hadn't grown out of the Saturn-type cars, I would go back happily for years.

My advice is to admire the Mercedes from afar, and buy a car that includes good customer satisfaction, you pay for that, too.|||take a look at who makes and sells /mercedes now a nother bail out company...
