Others have done it also. It is so you can fold the bimini and it will not interfere with activities like fishing in the aft end of the boat.Why did Boston Whaler mount it's bimini tops backwards on the new Montauks?
I suppose we would need someone from the Boston Whaler bimini top creation team to answer this...
