A buddy of mine is selling a 1987 17' Boston Whaler Montauk with an '87 90hp Johnson. Both are in better than average condition. Most things on the boat are origional and have been taken really good care of. The lower unit has been rebuilt and the motor runs good. He is asking $6,500. Is this a good deal? If not, what is an AVERAGE value of this boat? How would this boat handle in the ocean or the bay on a calm day with a little chop? Thanks1987 Boston Whaler Value??

Any optional equipment will add to the value of course. Whalers are great boats and I would not hesitate to buy a used one in good shape. This one sounds a bit overpriced, however.1987 Boston Whaler Value??

Thats a good price, especially if its clean and ready to go. 87 not to old and 90 hp good. If it includes a trailer it a whale of a deal. Check out Dancer Marine Guelph ON. He specializes in used Boston Whalers.
