I have a Boston Whaler 15' sport with a 50 H.P. motor, It's a great boat, and can go places that any other 15' boat can only "DREAM" of but, keep in mind that it is NOT "SEA WORTHY", it is under 16' and considered a "TENDER", although "Whaler's" will NOT sink, they can still flip over like a regular boat, Never push your boat past it's "LIMITS" !Boston Whaler Tender to Catalina?

The channel can be very rough and dangerous. With that in mind, a Whaler should be able to do it in the right conditions. The swell is going to be mostly broadside to your boat but it the wave faces are not too steep you'll be ok.
Make sure you have a VHF aboard!
