I got a $90,000 (Full ride) Scholarship to college. Which Car should I ask my dad to buy me?

Before you say anything, my dad has over $200,000 saved up and I've essentially allowed him to keep all of it. I'm not asking for an Aston Martin or a Ferrari, but a nice semi-luxury car around $60,000. What do you guys think about the following?

What options should I go for too?|||Seems like a waste to me.

I know a lot of people who would scratch up, slash the tires, or key the car of a freshman driving a BMW, lexus, mercedes, audi, etc.

And just because you earned money yourself for three summers in high school doesn't mean you have a lot of money to spend. I'm not saying you do or don't.

You seem like a flashy materialistic person. I hope you find friends in college who can accept you for that and not just use you.

A scholarship with a free parking spot? Hmm, sounds like a good school giving away parking spots. Does it have your name on it?|||Ask your Dad for a bus pass or a bicycle and bus, train or plane tickets home for the holidays. Many colleges do not permit freshmen to have cars on campus anyway. Your car would have to sit outside in all types of weather. Do you have money to pay for fuel, insurance, plates, maintenance etc. or do you expect Dad to pay for those things too?

Your Dad probably went without some luxuries to save up that money for your education. It is HIS money, not yours. You aren't "allowing" him to keep it. If he insists that you have it, save it for graduate school, a first home, or starting your own business.|||I would look at Lexus, Mercedes, Jaguar, BMW, Land Rover, Audi, etc.

Lexus has a really nice new convertible IS model that I like a lot. I don't have the convertible, but I have the regular IS250 and I really like it. Whatever it is that you don't spend, use the rest of the money saved up for graduate school or use it to rent/buy your own apartment, etc. Congrats on getting the scholarship!|||Many colleges don't allow freshman (or often older students) to bring cars to campus. Why buy a car if it's just going to sit around? And why should your father spend that money on you, now that he doesn't have to? Couldn't he use it for something? Don't bother getting a car until you can afford to buy, insure, and maintain it yourself.|||So you got into a college that costs about $22,500 a year... It's obviously not an Ivy league college so you're not really the smartest person alive and your dad is def. not required to spend his hard earned money on your spoiled bratty a$$. I am a graduate student studying for my PhD in Nuclear Engineering, got a full tuition, stipend and health insurance paid for. I'm driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ($4500), and guess what? That's not making me any smarter or dumber. Congrats for your full tuition, but now you better work your butt off and make as much or more money than your dad and buy your own car. You're an adult now and gifts don't fall out of the sky.|||How unselfish of you to allow your dad to keep his own money!! I think you deserve the Aston Martin, and your dad really could put off his retirement for another couple years.. Especially if your combining your life savings from 3 years part time work from high school together with his.|||Toyota or Lexus. Less maintenance required and less expensive maintenance. BMWs are always in the shop and are expensive to get repaired. Ditto for Mercedes.|||Bmw x5 or x6 , or and audi q5 wld probably be my choice :) , and if u like speed id definetly go with a Vette..|||Um, why is this in the Higher University section? Needing an ego boost, you little show-off?
